Lori Hurt

Senior Interior Designer

After partnering with the firm for the last five years, Lori Hurt recently joined JRJ in an official capacity as a Senior Interior Designer.  Lori brings in-depth experience in designing for healthcare, corporate and higher education campuses.  Her deep understanding of evidence-based design, color theory, lighting design and environmental graphics only adds to her innovative approach. Lori has proven to be responsive to client needs in fresh and creative ways. She focuses on integration of furniture, artwork and natural materials to ensure that the entire project showcases the client’s brand.

Lori seamlessly interprets client needs and wants into beautifully curated spaces in which to work, play and conduct business.  Past clients describe Lori as ‘a fantastic guide, advisor and innovator’ who is adept at delivering projects that reflect the design personality of the client while elevating the overall project to a professional level.  Lori’s past representative projects with JRJ include Providence Center for Cardiovascular Analytics, Research and Data Science, Providence Basecamp Projects and the Providence Children’s Development Institute.

Lori studied Graphic and Interior Design at Maryville University (St. Louis MO), earning her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in 2004.  Post graduation, she moved from the mid-west to Portland, beginning her career with ZGF Architects.  After eight years with ZGF, Lori opened LH Designs and has been busy growing a business and a  family.  As a full-time consultant, wife and mother of three, there is never a dull moment.  When not creating innovative spaces for clients, Lori has recently taken on a new and challenging re-design of her own 1970s-era split level home.
